My Story
Hi, I’m Shelby — a passionate storyteller, community builder, and content creator. It all started when I graduated from Syracuse University in 2019 with a degree in Communication and a minor in Chinese Studies. I began my career in newsrooms, such as CBS, WNBC, and The US Sun. I started as a production assistant and eventually transitioned to a social media manager. After years in newsrooms, I was presented with a life-changing opportunity to take on the role of Content Specialist at Meta. There, I work across their family of apps—Instagram, Threads, Facebook, and WhatsApp—where I analyze trends and evaluate content to ensure users have a great experience on these apps. I call the job life-changing because I see myself enhancing technology that contributes to informing the public forever. When not working at Meta, you’ll find me working again, probably in a coffee shop. I freelance part-time for a variety of publications, where I primarily contribute to their lifestyle, wellness, and politics content. When I'm not writing, I'm building Little Habits Social Club, a virtual and in-person community that meets monthly to connect women who are looking to make new friends. Over the years, I have built a career centered around informing, creating, and connecting, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
